The role
We’re hiring our first Growth Manager — a relationship-first, people-loving role focused on bringing aligned clients into Magnetica.
The Growth Manager role is rooted in supporting the Portland small business community. You’ll help busy small business owners learn about Magnetica and access marketing services that can genuinely support their growth. If you care about small businesses, love connecting with people, and want your work to actually make a difference, this is the role for you.
We truly love our clients and the work we do with them — and we’re looking for someone who feels the same way. This isn’t about pushing services or convincing people who aren’t a fit. It’s about building genuine connections, showing up with care, and introducing the right people to something that can help them.
You’ll find and connect with potential clients in whatever way feels most natural to you — social outreach, networking, referrals, community spaces, walking neighborhoods, or creative ideas of your own. Once there’s interest, you’ll pass the connection to Riley (founder), who hosts an intro call and then creates a custom digital proposal for the client.
As Growth Manager, you work on your own time, in your own way, and as your authentic self. There’s no set schedule, no required outreach method, and no “right” approach. If you do your best work with autonomy and trust, you’ll feel at home here.
What You’ll do
Build genuine relationships with small business owners in Portland
Identify potential clients who align with Magnetica’s values and services
Introduce qualified prospects to Riley and pass them into the intro call process
Represent Magnetica with warmth, clarity, and integrity
Help grow awareness of Magnetica within the local small business community
You’re welcome (but not required) to be involved in intro calls if it adds value — collaboration is encouraged, ownership over clients is not.
Compensation
This role is commission-based and structured to be straightforward and well-compensated.
You earn one full month of services for every client who signs
Ongoing services start at $1,000+ per month per client
Commission is paid after the client pays their first full month invoice
If a client starts mid-month on a prorated invoice, commission is paid after their first full, non-prorated month
There is no cap on commission
More clients = more income, every month
There are no required hours
You have the potential to earn a lot with only a little time investment
As the Growth Manager, you can work when you want, how you want, and will make as much as you’re willing to put in.

What Success Looks Like
This role is meant to be sustainable and worthwhile for both of us.
Ideally, this role brings in at least one new client per month, creating consistent income for you and steady growth for Magnetica. Bringing in more than one client per month is always welcome and rewarded.
As the business grows, so does the opportunity for this role to expand (see below).

As you help bring in clients, you’re directly creating the runway for this role to evolve. Over time, this position can grow into a hybrid Growth + Marketing Manager role, supporting ongoing clients with:
Social media management
Blog and email marketing
Content strategy and execution
